About Us

Our Story

Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Community Plate Initiative emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community during a time it was needed most, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established during the pandemic in 2020 by a group of friends from San Diego, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.

About: About Us

Our Mission

Community Plate Initiative is on a mission to alleviate hunger within our San Diego community while inspiring others in their respective communities to do the same. By hosting free warm meal distributions every week, documenting and sharing our processes, and connecting donations from fellow community members to individuals who need support, we hope to solve the problem of division within our neighborhoods, come together, and foster hope for a homelessness and hunger-free future.

About: Who We Are

Here at CPi, we want nothing more than to encourage a community standard of unity and compassion no matter what race, creed, social, political, or economical status is held.
